Since 1994, Lunas has paved the road for a new outlook into the future for a GREENER LAS VEGAS, and with our new state of the art recycling facility we allow that to happen.

The majority of all materials that are received at Lunas can be re-used or recycled. Having an average of a 75% recycle rate, Lunas not only diverts waste from the growing landfills, but also creates new markets for all our recycled materials that include

Our recycling services include:

• Metal is separated from the waste stream and segregated into ferrous and non ferrous metals. They are then taken to buy back centers for further processing.

• Wood is taken to our grinding facility and the end product is sold for playground mix, landscape, and press board sold in your local Home Depot.

• Plastic is baled into 1200 lb bales and exported for further processing and used to inject molds.

• Cardboard is baled and shipped to processing centers in the USA.

• Drywall is screened and sold to farmers who use it to balance the Ph in the dirt and it holds moisture as well, so crops use less water.

• Carpet Padding is taken to buy back centers who further process material and make new carpet padding.

• Concrete is cleaned and taken to crush plants who turn it into type 2 and used for base on new construction.

• Asphalt is cleaned and taken to plants who will crush it and reuse it in the pavement.

• Glass is taken out of state where it will be used for different products such as tile, pavement, and new glass bottles.

• Tires/Rubber is taken out of state where it is ground into small crumb rubber and used for different products such as asphalt -mix, landscape cover, and playground applications.

Lunas makes all this possible by routing all waste through our Materials Recovery Facility. These materials are first sorted through our Picking Line and then sent off for further processing.
